Goldcrest – festive window graphics

Christmas vinyl window graphics

The Graphical Tree had the pleasure of producing the festive window graphics for the Goldcrest Film office at Lexington Street in London’s Soho. The graphics were reverse cut from self adhesive white vinyl and applied to the inside of the reception glass.

Vinyl cut graphics for a perfect finish

We first need to plan the artwork before we can do any cutting. Where possible, we cut graphics to fit the size of individual glass panels for a clean and professional installation.

Vinyl graphics installation

We can produce a cut vinyl graphic between 1.2m and 1.5m wide, depending on the colour. This means that an installer has manageable pieces to fit. Anything wider than their outstretched arms can prove difficult. We need to make the installation flow as effortlessly as possible.

How we complete installation

As much as possible we need to make sure the glass panes are free from dust and dirt before an installation happens. When installing outside to glass exposed to daily grime it’s more tricky, but we always give the windows a wash before starting as a clean surface means the vinyl can be applied speckle-free. Excess dust can create marks under the surface of the vinyl which can appear unsightly.

Self-adhesive vinyl decals

Vinyl decals are cut on a plotter from rolls of either pre-coloured or printed vinyl. The plotter blade follows the path of the design and artwork. Pieces that aren’t needed, such as the background around the trees, snow, and birds, are pulled away. As the adhesive is on the reverse of the film, an application of film is applied to the vinyl surface.

The installer applies the graphics to the surface before pulling away the supporting application film, leaving the design safely in place.

A eye-catching Christmas window display

The final result, even if we say so ourselves, is a bright and eye-catching set of festive window graphics. The white cut vinyl is crisp (like the winter weather) and gives maximum impact to the passerby.
